I am ready to extricate the wharf lines as well as cruise in to the sunset! From Canada to the Caribbean afterwards the Med! How can we consequence the living?? My vessel is flattering self sufficient, we usually need about the $1000 the month vital expenses. (I have the vessel maintenance/repair puncture fund) I’ll lease my residence out though which will usually compensate for mortage as well as upkeep. Other afterwards which I’m debt free! we could hang around for the integrate of some-more years, though we wish to take my doggy with me. If we wait for which long, he competence be removing as well aged to have the trip. BTW we am told there’s no work for training english as the second denunciation where I’m starting & we exclude to charter. PLEASE…no internet pyramid selling scams or surveys! I’ve been unfortunate sufficient to investigate them all! . But we am open disposed about legit online business. Unfortunately there would be times which we will be divided from the net for 3 to 4. we have been pulsation my conduct opposite the wall for 3 years seeking for answers!! SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME!!!

prostitution is after all the oldest profession
bring things from where you live & sell them to the their in were your going
Build up a buzz abut the journey – discover something/follow some route etc – anything to have a newsworth purpose to your journey. My suggestion is sponsorship. Ellen Macarthur got around the world with it and got a knighthood (called dame for females)
Also arrange with local radios, magazines etc to make reports etc. Follow the exploits of “Around Ireland With a Fridge” and “500 Mile Walkies” for the kind of ideas.
Just make it an event instead of a bum around the Caribbean.
Also could you get your expenses down a bit – they still seem a bit high!
the cruising community is remarkably self contained…there are always people to trade and barter services…so even if you don’t know how to change an injector on your diesel, there will be someone who does and needs what you know/do…
some good portable skills are:
nursing
massage therapy;
there is always a huge demand for canvas workers/sail makers…….got room for a good Plath or Brother machine aboard?
varnishes…it’s amazing the number of offshore sailors who are terrified of a varnish brush
bookkeeping/accounting…..apparently 2/3rds of the world uses Quick Books as their small business program; if you know..or can learn QB… you can get work anywhere either part time a week or for a few weeks at tax/inventory time; my marina in St Thomas would hire you tomorrow !
You didn’t mention what your skills/professions are now…it almost doesn’t matter ; a part of cruising is reinventing yourself; it is not uncommon to find out the boat cleaner- varnisher two over from you was a tenured professor at Swarthmore in her previous life!
Cruising with the dog is an excellent idea ( i did it for years) but not all islands down here welcome dogs….Bermuda and the BVIs are particularly tough……check out Bermuda’s requirements BEFORE you leave for example…….
The monthly magazine for Caribbean cruising sailors is at…always Good Stuff there…any other questions, I bet you can figure out my e-mail!
fair winds following seas, see you when you get here!
