It's just like eating an elephant...one piece at a time. Then it won't seem so overwhelming. Getting started is the hardest thing so get moving. Try picking up your room first, then tackling the laundry room. Your going to have dirty clothes right? Do the bathroom last because you'll both need to clean up after you get done with the other rooms.

Start with one area at a time, the bath room for example, put things away, clean the sink, counter the toilet and bathtub. Go to the next room and repeat the process of putting everything away and cleaning all appliances (washer & dryer) then both of you do the bedroom, put all clothes away, separate dirty from clean and put the clean on hangers, once you are through with this make the beds and then clean all floors last after everything else is clean.

You should be able to do the bathroom, laundry room both within 10 to 15 minutes, your room may take longer but just stick with it and you can have everything clean in less than 3 hours.
