I’m not sure if this is still true and works, but try putting a dollar sign in the encryption, then the key.
You bought a mac which is what you did wrong. MACs suck!
Are you entering it in the correct format. You can enter a key in hexadecimal, ascii, or as a passphrase. You must use the same exact format as the router.
if all else fails then contact Belkin
You have to figure out what you are using as your security on your router. My suggestion is WPA or WPA2, WEP is too easy to break. The others are too difficult to use. The password is usually case sensitive. Download the freeware called iStumbler. It’ll give you and idea of what your router is using. You could also reset your router and enter the new password with your Mac and know for sure what you are doing. Or phone Apple.
Go into the routers settings http://192.168.2.1
Maybe it has mac filtering on.Which means the only pc’s that can access the router are the ones whose mac addresses have been entered.Also you will be able to see the encryption key
