Why didn’t our home security system’s glass break detector go off?

We not long ago got the confidence complement commissioned in the house. Part of the complement was the GE 5845-ID potion mangle detector. This sunrise the cat knocked off the potion off the table, it shattered, though the warning didn’t go off. The salesman pronounced the potion ruinous upon the building would trigger it- do you have the bad sensor or does he only not know his product?

you may have a bad sensor have the tech come out and check it out

Glassbreak sensors do go off at the sound of shattering glass, but it has to be able to hear it. You didn’t specify where the glassbreak sensor was or where the glass was broken. If they weren’t in the same room then you can’t expect the sensor to pick it up. If they were then there is a good chance you have a bad sensor. Also if the system wasn’t armed then it’s not going to go off. Call your company and see what it’ll cost you to send a technician out there to check on the sensor. If it’s more than the cost of another glass cup than I suggest you try the sensor out for yourself by breaking something cheap right by the sensor when it’s armed. If it still doesn’t go off then you know you need to pay to have the technician swap out sensors, assuming the company won’t cover it. Most companies only give a 90 day warranty on the equipment before you have to pay.
